Overview

Welcome parents and students to the page of The Class of 2030.  Well, for now, let's just refer to our 8th grade scholars as the Renaissance Middle School graduating Class of 2026.  Our 8th grade scholars' classes are located in what we affectionately call The House of Nobility.  Each grade level at Renaissance Middle School has a different royal title assigned to their hallway. The actual House of Nobility is located in Stockholm, Sweden and dates back to the 1600's. It's name literally translates to "the house of knights", as knights belong to the higher ranks of Swedish nobility. Our 8th grade scholars are the highest ranking students at Renaissance Middle School and, as such, should be esteemed as an "elite" group of scholars.

Dr. Valencia Bradshaw

Hello parents and students.

I am very excited and honored to be a part of the Renaissance Middle School Wildcat family! I am an Atlanta native and a product of the Atlanta and Dekalb County public school systems. I joined the Fulton County School System 19 years ago as a first year teacher and mid-career professional. I have served in various capacities, including Teacher, Department Chairperson, Work-Based Learning Coordinator, STEM Director, School Improvement Program Specialist and 3DE Magnet Director.

I believe high expectations should be set for ALL students. Students should be exposed to an academically rich curriculum that requires the use of pedagogy and resources that are culturally relevant and responsive. My commitment to education includes focusing on literacy,  STEM and problem/project-based learning. Engaging students in transdiciplinary units of study helps to eliminate the age-old question of "why do I have to learn this?"
